Letters of Edward Alfred Pollard and his mother Pauline Cabell Rives Pollard [manuscript], 1856-1857.

The collection contains three letters from Alfred Pollard to C. Mitchell concerning a loan made by Mitchell to Pollard enabling him to post bail in [New York City?] where he had a "personal difficulty" and travel to Washington to avoid imprisonment and begin a new job. There is also a letter from Pauline Pollard to an unidentified recipient requesting an advance on interest from her fund.
